BAND
A Ten-Hut!
Our most visible group is the Napa High School Marching Band with over 100+ years tradition of performing in the Napa Valley. Mr. Riendeau directs the 75+ member band with the help of a strong student leadership including Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and a Concertmaster, along with a host of parent volunteers.
FOOTBALL GAMES: The Napa High School Marching Band performs at all home football games with a different halftime show at each, and supports the team from the sidelines and in the stands throughout the games. During the Fall semester, this typically means that the band attends at least 6 varsity games, plus more if the team enters playoffs.
PERFORMANCES & PARADES: The Napa High School Marching Band is a college-style "high stepping" show band that focuses on performances that support our community. During the fall semester, The Marching Band performs at a wide variety of events throughout the region including: The Yountville Days Parade, CAL Band Day, the Napa Downtown Holiday Parade, and more. Locally, the band plays at middle and elementary schools in the Napa Valley Unified School District throughout the year. In the Spring, the band performs at the annual NHSIM outdoor music fundraiser: The Festival!
CONCERT SEASON: At the winter break, Marching Season ends and Concert Season begins. The band packs away the marching uniforms and transitions into a concert band, learning and refining concert pieces for auditorium performances in March and in May.

Music Can Change the World
Our Orchestra is made up of dedicated students who have a passion for music and performing as a group. We have over 100 talented members who comprise the woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings sections. The fall and spring concerts are beautifully performed by these students.
COLOR GUARD
Runnin' Circles Around the Band!
The Color Guard is the visual performing ensemble (flag, rifle, sabre, and dance) of the Napa High School Marching Band. Working closely together with choreography and music, these two groups enthusiastically entertain the crowds during half-time on the football field.

JAZZ BAND
The Band’s With Us
A 20+ person "big band" jazz ensemble that meets daily and plays at a variety of concerts during the year. In addition to three school concerts, the Jazz Band performs at the Reno Jazz Festival as well as other venues.
DRUMLINE
Napa High Drumline stirs up the crowd with masterful technique, showmanship, and presence. Our percussion section leads the band into the stadium each week and fills everyone with Napa High pride as the drum cadence rings out!
GUITAR
Life is like a Guitar
At Napa High School, our guitar class provides a great opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of music and the basic skills necessary to play a wide variety of music styles. Learning to play the guitar helps a student develop hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle more than one task at a time. Through the guitar course, students work on creativity, memory, and other brain tasks.
